MERI GORNI

Meri Gorni (1958, Milan, Italy) lives and works in Milan. In her drawings, photographs, installations and videos, there is always a word, a phrase, a concept linked to reading and writing, because for her drawing and writing have the same root. For more than twenty years she has been building a visual vocabulary in which each word is matched by a video.

Nel sogno, 2008-2021, she mixes reality with imagination. Every morning, when she wakes up, she is baffled about the dreams of the night before. Gorni draws and portraits what she saw, trying to put together her memories, but the enigma remains in the quick fading of the images. Dreams are, indeed, short..... because they fade quickly!  Nel sogno, 2008-2021 is a collection of the fragmented pieces of her memories.
