Collezione: MARCO GRIMALDI

Marco Grimaldi (1967, Udine, Italy) lives and works in Milan. His rarefied and mysterious painting cannot be defined in terms of abstraction or figuration. His works stem from the search for an architecture of the painting, a space constructed from drawing, light and its modulation.

Diari is a group of around 300 drawings that the artist has developed over the last few years. Each individual work is a note by the artist, or rather a never definitive landing place, an end that leads to a new beginning.
The forms emerged spontaneously over the years, as pre-existing images in the artist's mind that needed physical expression. The signs form a secret and intimate alphabet, recognisable and translatable only by the artist. The series wants to express the very human desire to stop and look inside oneself while waiting for a revelation.
