EROS BONAMINI | CATALOGUE OF THE EXHIBITION ARMONIE RIPETUTE AL MARGINE DEL TEMPO
The special edition of 50 numbered copies stands out for its steel cover made from the original mirror plates used by Eros Bonamini for his Vanitas Cronotopografie works.
Eros Bonamini (Verona 1942 – 2012) explored, decade after decade, the different periods and tensions sparked by the artistic culture of his time, while maintaining the complete independence of his gaze from overly restrictive labels and definitions. Bonamini occupied the "atypical" role of the master who, never conforming or repetitive, always imbued his research with a committed experimental energy, the fruit of his distinctive artistic and human personality.
The volume accompanies the exhibition Armonie ripetute al margine del tempo (Nuova Galleria Morone, 14 September – 11 November 2023) in collaboration with Archivio Eros Bonamini, and presents the metamorphosis of the elements employed through cycles of works ranging from the delicate Stesure in concrete, in which the sign emerges or sinks with delicate physicality, to the more marked Cronotopografie on paper and then converge – the focal point of the exhibition – with the powerful tangibility of the Vanitas Cronotopografie of the very famous steels “written” with the oxyacetylene torch.
His dialectic between time, space, gesture, and matter unfolds with a uniquely personal transport of the senses, one with which he strives to observe the existential flow through the slow—and sometimes abrupt—changes in the state of things. "Delicacy and strength, incisiveness and lyricism will not fail to capture the atavistic essence, charged with true and authentic, sincere and honest passion, that characterizes the work of Eros Bonamini, about whom there is still much to observe and from whom we still have much to learn."
