MERI GORNI

Meri Gorni (1958, Milan, Italy) lives and works in Milan. The artist uses different languages among which drawing, photography, videos, performance, books to create works related to the world of the word. Her works, like a narrative, linked to literature, to memory, to fable, articulate from the personal to the collective sphere.

Nel sogno, 2008-2021, she mixes reality with imagination. Every morning, when she wakes up, she is baffled about the dreams of the night before. Gorni draws and portraits what she saw, trying to put together her memories, but the enigma remains in the quick fading of the images. Dreams are, indeed, short..... because they fade quickly!  Nel sogno, 2008-2021 is a collection of the fragmented pieces of her memories.
